Gym
The 317sqm gym features state of the art equipment with
iPod connectivity, touch screen technology and USB connection. This fantastic equipment is supplied by Technogym who are providing the fitness equipment for training venues and the Athlete's Village for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. If you're not already a GO member make sure you book your induction at Reception and get GOing!
Swimming Pools
After all of these activities why not cool down in one of the two pools, including the 6 lane, 25m main pool with a range of activities for both adults and kids, including swimming lessons, aquafit and fun rafts and rings sessions! See the

Wi-fi Hotspots
At Blaydon Leisure & Primary Care Centre you can access the internet via a wi-fi connection in the Reception, Gym and Studio. To get access just register at Reception.
Electric Car Charging Points
The North East's Plugged in Places project (PIP) is creating a comprehensive network of electric car charging infrastructure across the North East region. At Blaydon Leisure & Primary Care Centre you will find standard charging points with each charging point allowing a single phase 32A 240V supply. The time taken to fully charge a car with a 3kw standard charger is eight hours and with a 7kw standard charger four hours.
GO Membership
Sign up to a healthy and active lifestyle today with Gateshead Sport & Leisure's GO Membership package.
Go Membership allows unlimited access to Gateshead Council gyms (excluding Birtley Leisure Centre), swimming pools, fitness classes, sauna and steam rooms and the track at Gateshead International Stadium for a monthly fee.
There is a reduced cost option for 14 - 17 year olds, students, those aged 60 years plus, and for two people living at the same address saving you £££s every year. The price includes your gym induction and regular programme reviews with a qualified gym instructor.

The Primary Care Centre
The Primary Care Centre provides a range of health services so patients don't have to go to hospital. These include:
- GP Practice
- Minor Injury and Illness Unit
- Breast Screening
- Community Physiotherapy
- CATS service - A clinical assessment and treatment service for Musculo-skeletal (MSK) patients
- Community dental and emergency out of hours dental service
- X-Ray
- Primary care mental health
- Podiatry
- Contraceptive and sexual health service
- Speech and language therapy service for children
- Audiology
- Services to help people adopt a healthier lifestyle (weight management, alcohol management, stop smoking)
Will I need an appointment?
No appointment is necessary to attend the Minor Injury and Illness Unit. Most of the other services available at the centre are by appointment or referral.
