Whickham Photographic Club

Whickham Photographic Club is a thriving community of enthusiasts. It is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Northern Counties Photographic Federation. The core activity is the weekly Friday evening meeting from 7:30pm at Whickham Community Centre, NE16 4JL, between September and May. There is a wide ranging programme of lectures, demonstrations, competitions and opportunities for members to show their own work.

The History of the Club goes back to 1973 at a time when darkroom photography and colour slides played a central role in most members work. More recently digital photography has taken over, leading to the popularity of colour printing, and most recently, projected digital images. The Club's social calendar includes regular visits to places of photographic interest throughout the year.

How To Get Involved

You are invited to come along and join us (Friday evenings from 7:30pm at Whickham Community Centre), the first three visits are free to see if this is for you.

Our new season begins on Friday 3rd September at 7.30pm, meeting as usual at Whickham Community Centre, Front Street NE16 4JL. New members are always welcome and you may attend up to three meetings without obligation.
